This is not an after-hours GP service. At times when you are not sure if you need to go to the emergency department, but cannot contact your GP, My Emergency Doctor's team of 24/7 emergency doctors can:

How we help residents of Eastern and North Eastern Melbourne

    EXPERTISE

It’s now possible to quickly and easily access Australia’s leading specialist emergency doctors (also known as FACEMs), regardless of where and when you need help. All of our consulting doctors are Fellows of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

We recommend you have a stable internet or data connection when connecting to our doctors, and are in a well lit area, so the emergency specialist can view you and/or the patient.

Alternatively patients can call our service on 1800 000 633

Our lines are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week although calls are funded through the PHN program only for the after hours period. After Hours is defined as Monday - Friday: 6pm – 8am, Saturday: 12pm – 8am, Sunday and Public Holidays: 24hrs. Calls received outside of these times are subject to charges. Calls will be answered within minutes, at any time of the day or night.

When to Call

If you or someone you know are experiencing unexpected symptoms or are feeling acutely unwell, it can be difficult to know who to call. This service is specifically for the after hours* period or for some people, like the elderly or those with pre-existing conditions, times when you might normally attend an Emergency Department but may not be able to in the current environment.

My Emergency Doctor is not a replacement for your GP or the ambulance service. If a patient is experiencing a time-critical emergency and/or is unconscious, has chest pain, difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding or has been in a major accident, please dial 000 immediately.

Calls are funded through the PHN program and free to residents of Eastern and North Eastern Melbourne only for the after hours period.
